How does club chat work?

A club can have a chat room, switched on by its owner, open to approved members. It is live — messages arrive as they are sent — and it is the club's informal channel next to its posts.

If a club has no chat tab, its owner has not enabled it. Chat history stays in the club, so leaving the club means losing access to it.
