Are the chat, friends and clubs here the same as in SuperClub?

Yes — one set of friends, one set of clubs, one message history. The community side of Games & Clubs and the SuperClub app are two windows onto the same thing, so a message you send in one is in the other, and a friend who appears online in one is online in both.

Games can have their own club, which is where discussion, screenshots, guides and reviews for that game live. A game whose developer has not set one up simply has no community tab yet.
