What is a seed phrase, and how should I keep it?

The seed phrase (also called a recovery phrase) is the 12 or 24 words that are your wallet. Anyone who has them controls every account in it, on any device, for good. Without them, nobody can restore the wallet, including you and including us.

Write it on paper, in order, and store it somewhere safe and offline. Do not keep it as a screenshot, a photo, a note that syncs to the cloud, or a message to yourself. Anything on a screen or a server can be read by whoever gets into that device or account.

To protect you, the app blocks screenshots of the phrase on Android and hides it from screen recordings on iPhone. If you copy it, the app clears it from the clipboard after 60 seconds.
